IOA has been developping over the past eight years and took a firm place amongst the international masterclasses from the beginning on. Starting with big success in 2012 as the first "all inclusiveā€¯ Summer Academy for Opera at Villigst Mansion House near Dortmund, we have had the possibility to meet and teach lots of singers from all over the world. At the request of many young singers and by the varied experience we gained we decided to concentrate our offer even more on the issues we think an opera singer needs to ensure a long career.

That is why we reduced the course to an intense 10-day-period.
Furthermore IOA 2019 will move to the north of Germany to collaborate with Theater Bremerhaven.

We always desired to make things possible. We want to support every young talented singer. So we offer for 2019 a number of partial scholarships. Members of GVL will be reimbursed 50% of the course fee.
We do not have an age limit as there are professional singers who like to participate, too. Need help with a "Fachwechsel"? That's the place to go!

IOA has prepared everything for you: please click through the menus and do not hesitate to contact the IOA if you have any specific program requests or questions.

Konzertgesellschaft Schwerte

Our longlasting cooperation with the "Konzertgesellschaft Schwerte" and the "Oratorienchor Kamen" will not come to an end now! Future participants of IOA can still be chosen for a paid concert engagement with orchestra (Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, the orchestra of Theater Gelsenkirchen) in the following year! Thank you Konzertgesellschaft and Oratorienchor for giving this opportunity to our singers!
